10.13:: Peter Broderick/Gabriel Saloman  :: Beacon Sound

At the end of October, fresh (exhausted) from a spectacular weekend at the Sou’Wester for Beacon Sound’s mini-festival, Peter, Gabriel and I spent an evening in the studio to track some improvisations that will serve as the foundation for the first Beacon Sound vinyl release. The chemistry was great between the two musicians, especially considering that neither of them had played together before. They laid down four pieces over the course of a couple of hours, and now will each take those tracks with them for further addition/processing. I can’t wait to hear what they come up with!

11.13:: Chris Marshall Music Video

A new sweet, celebratory music video from my friend, musician Chris Marshall. This is from an EP he released last year entitled “Waltz,” and was tracked live by me at Type Foundry and mixed by Rian Lewis. Chris is a very talented singer/songwriter based in Hillsboro, just outside Portland. I’ve been lucky to work on three of his records.

11.13:: Ghost To Falco :: Soft Shield LP

It was a couple of years in the making, but the new album by Portland’s Ghost To Falco, entitled “Soft Shield,” is finally out.  I did the tracking at Type Foundry for four of the songs, and mixed one of them over at the Mix Foundry. In addition to yours truly, is a long list of other great engineers that contributed their skills to the album: the remainder of the songs were tracked by Mike Lastra at Smegma Studios, with overdubs by Justin Fowler at Feral Donkey Studios, Cory Gray at Scenic Burrows, Jay Demko at Studio 606, Victor Nash at Destination: Universe!, and mixing by Victor Nash at Destination: Universe! as well as John Wagner at Supergiant.  This is the 6th Ghost To Falco record I’ve worked on, which makes it every single one in some capacity.  It’s available on cassette from Curly Cassettes here, will be available on vinyl from Italian label Fooltribe, and downloadable at Bandcamp:
